Minister assures Sasa people of FG support

Minister of Youth and sports Development Mr *Sunday Dare* has visited  Sasa,  Ibadan, Oyo State for an on the spot assessment of the  damage caused by  the recent carnage resulting  into the lost of lives and wanton destruction  of properties, even as he assured the victims of  prompt assistance from the Federal Government.
Speaking  during a tour of the burnt market and  private properties, Mr. Dare said” On behalf of President Muhammadu Buhari,  I wish to register  the condolences of the  Federal Government to the families  of those that lost their loved ones and to encourage  those that lost properties and their source of livelihood to take heart. This incident is most unfortunate,  and unnecessary . The Federal  Government  promise to establish the remote and immediate  cause of this incident to  forestall  future occurrences. What is most important  now is how  to assist the people  get  back their source of livelihood. I will  brief Mr President  when I get back  to Abuja and advise on how best the government  can assist displaced people and  those whose source of livelihood  has been  affected. Governors  and other have visited, but as the Minister  represented  the state at the Federal Executive, I will do my  best  to get  the Federal Government give  assistance  to the displaced. Be rest assured, help is on the way from   the Federal Government  for those that are affected  by this sad development. I appeal to the  people to put this ugly incident  behind and live together in peace and harmony. Very soon, the police deployed here would leave, it  would leave, then it  becomes   the  responsibility of the  community  to ensure they live  peacefully”
In his response, the *Sarkin Hausawa of Sasa Alhaji Haruna Maiyasin Katsina* said ” We have lived in peace with  each other for so maany years, but this incident is most unfortunate .Any Crisis  that persists  for weeks without  solution needs to be investigated. I thank President *Muhammadu Buhari*  for  sending  the Minister to see things for himself and we look forward  to the  government   assistance  for those that were affected.”
He said both the Hausa and Yoruba Communities had co- existed for  many year when the late *Major General  Shehu Musa  Yar ‘Adua* as Chief of Staff, Supreme Headquarters advised that space should be created for  new market to accommodate  the Hausa people to avoid any conflict.
He assured that himself  and the Baale had  very cordial  relationships and  would always be willing  to work together  for lasting peace in their domain, instead of allowing  selfish  people shatter it.
