Owerri bubbles for ENIC tennis championship

The 21st edition of the East of the Niger Inter Club tennis championship (ENIC) serves off today in Owerri.
Defending Champions and hosts, STDC Owerri will do battle with three other clubs -Orlu Recreation Club, Aba Sports Club and Onitsha Sports Club.
STDC Owerri would be aiming to become the first club to win the super league format of the championship back to back since it began four years ago. The Owerri club defeated Aba Sports Club by three games to two to win the last edition of the longest regional tennis championship in Nnewi last season.
A top official of the championship organizers, Charles Duruaku said yesterday that all is set for the tournament which he noted would be action packed, given what is at stake and the pedigree of the players featuring for the participating clubs.
