AFRICA YOUTH CUP CELEBRATES DR. PETER SINGABELE AT 70
The Africa Youth Cup proudly joins family, friends, colleagues, the football community, and the people of Bayelsa State and Nigeria in celebrating the 70th birthday of Dr. Peter Singabele—an accomplished medical doctor, distinguished public servant, and one of Nigeria’s most respected football administrators.
A goodwill message signed by Godson Ekadi on behalf of AYC noted that Singabele is a man of excellence.
The message read in part…”Over the course of an illustrious career spanning medicine, governance, and sports administration, Dr. Singabele has demonstrated exceptional leadership and an unwavering commitment to excellence. As he marks his 70th birthday, the Africa Youth Cup recognizes Dr. Singabele not only for his impressive professional achievements but also for his enduring legacy as a mentor and advocate for young people across Africa.”
A graduate of the University of Ibadan, Singabele who was 70 yesterday has served with distinction in several strategic public offices, including as Head of Service of Bayelsa State and Chairman of the Bayelsa State Independent Electoral Commission, earning admiration for his professionalism, integrity, and dedication to public service.
In football, Dr. Singabele’s impact has been equally remarkable. He has played a pivotal role in the growth of the game in Bayelsa State and Nigeria, contributing to the development of Bayelsa United Football Club, serving on the board of the Nigeria Football Federation, and becoming the first Nigerian appointed to the Confederation of African Football Medical Committee. Through his passion for grassroots football and youth development, he has helped nurture countless young talents and strengthen the foundation of the sport.
