Registration for Above 50 Football championship ends July 23
..As organisers announce unveiling of mini- Olympics Logo

Organisers of the annual Above 50 Football competition have announced Tuesday, July, 23 as the final registration date for teams that want to be part of the tournament.
Chairman of the Main Organising Committee ( MOC) of the championship, Dr. Rafiu Ladipo while announcing the date stated that many teams have picked their registration forms after payment of N100,000registration fee while some have expressed interest to be part of the tournament.
” You’re aware that immediately after the successful hosting of the maiden edition last year, we put modalities on ground for a more successful second edition which is slated to kick off by October this year
” Registration has since commenced and the Main Organising Committee after a careful review of the registration process, decided that the last date for registration should be Tuesday, July, 23.
” The door is still open for teams that want to be part of this action filled tournament that is aimed at making retired national and international players as well as senior citizens recreate, catch fun and network”, he stressed .
Meanwhile Ladipo has announced that the President / initiator of the competition Ambassador Dr. Edward Olutoke who also doubles as President of Ikeja Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture has revealed plans to organise an Above 50 mini- Olympics to enable senior citizens test their skills in various sports.
He noted that arrangement has been concluded to unveil the logo for the mini- Olympics on July, 28, 2024 at Ostra Hotel, Alausa, Ikeja and it’s expected that some ex- Olympians will be on hand for the unveiling ceremony.
