NNL: NASARAWA UNITED SUPPORTERS UNVEIL KITS, PLEDGE UNPARALLELED SUPPORT TO TEAM AHEAD OF NEW SEASON

As Clubs get ready for the commencement of the 2023/24 Nigeria National League, NNL, Season, Supporters’ Club of NNL side, Nasarawa United, have unveiled their latest kits, with a promise to stand firmly by the Solid Miners to enable them return to the Nigeria Premier Football League.

At a brief ceremony held inside the Lafia City Stadium on Friday evening, Chairman of the Supporters’ Club, Ali Jibrin(a.k.a. Baggio), joined by his Executive Members, inducted the Chairman of Nasarawa United FC, Dr. Othman Ibrahim Ahmed, into its fold and presented him with a membership replica jersey as a mark of their allegiance to the Club.

He said United’s Supporters’ Club would be different from what it used to be, disclosing that it has come up with various innovations and programmes to boost the physical, psychological and mental state of the team, with a belief that such moves would spur them back to the Premier League.

In his acceptance remarks, Nasarawa United’s Supremo, Dr. Othman told the Club’s Media that the gesture of the Supporters’ was a sign of good things to come to the team.

“This is quite significant. For Supporters to come out and induct you into their fold, saying you are one of them, I think it’s a sign of good things to come.”

He explained that the Supporters’ Club is a pivotal and integral part of a team’s success.

“The Supporters’ Club is a major anchor to the success of any sporting outfit. And ours are no exception.

“You enjoy a home match because of the presence of the supporters. With what they have done today, it’s going to be a flourished environment once the Season begins.

“The Supporters Club’s presence would boost the confidence level of our players and coaches, and this will enable us enjoy our home and away games, and by inference, win our games, more especially that it’s been long they showed support to the team right here at their home ground.”

The United’s Chairman urged members of the Supporters’ Club to shun acts capable of destroying the image of the team or bring ‘the most important league’ into disrepute.

“Our supporters must never engage in abusive confrontations, throwing of objects, or indulge in unsporting behaviour. All these will have negative effects on the morale of the team.

“All we need from them is to continue to give necessary and needed support to the team to win games.”

The Club’s Chairman was joined by his Management team, including Solomon Babanjah(Team Manager), Adamu Musa, Idris Rilwan and Musa Usman Oruma.

Nasarawa United will perform the opening ceremony match in the 2023/24 NNL campaign with a home game against visiting Zamfara United at the Lafia City Stadium on Saturday, 11th November, 2023, by 4pm.
