Ajayi Hails Participants As 2nd Powerblink Independence Day Tourney Successfully

For recording a significant success, head coach of Powerblink Football Club and Academy Elijah Opetunde Ajayi has commended players, clubs, parents, Royal Father, sponsors and partners for their contributions after the conclusion of the 2nd Powerblink Independence Day tournament in Lagos.

The one-day grassroot football event witnessed the gathering of individuals who had come around to watch future talents at the Radialsports Arena, Ibeju-Lekki during the national holiday.

Nine teams participated in the three age-grade tournaments which included U-7,U-10 and U-13.

During the proceedings, Ultimate Sports Academy defeated Onyeball FA in the U-7 final 6-5 on penalty to emerge as winners after both sides failed to find the back of the net at the end of regulation time.

Onyeball FA would however, exert it’s dominance in the U-10 category after it edged Panthers FA 2-1 on penalty in the final.
The two sides had played out an exciting 2-2 scoreline at the end of regulation.

Again, Onyeball FA would extend it’s bragging rights to claim the U-13 title with a solitary goal victory against Ultimate SA in the final.

In his remarks, Coach Jah as the was fondly called, said he was satisfied with the level of competition among the children whose exciting talents could dominate the next generation if well nurtured.

“At Powerblink Football Club and Academy, we believe every child deserves to be recognized for their effort, commitment, and participation. In line with this vision” he continued, “all participants received awards, ensuring that no player was left behind. Every young footballer had something to celebrate and take home as a reminder of their hard work and involvement in the tournament” he said.

He further revealed that, “This year’s tournament recorded a remarkable turnout, with over 472 young players participating and more than 80 parents, fans, and supporters in attendance. The level of participation, commitment, and support demonstrated the growing impact of grassroots football in our community.”

“We wish to recognize and appreciate individuals, organizations, and groups for their contributions including our royal father Baale of Kajola Town, Ibeju-Lekki, and his family for honouring our invitation, standing behind our vision, and supporting our efforts to create opportunities for young footballers. Your presence and encouragement meant a great deal to us.”

“Special recognition goes to Green Lunar Nigeria Limited and Mars Properties – Buy, Rent & Sell for their generous sponsorship and partnership. Your contributions helped us organize this tournament and provide a platform for young players to showcase their abilities. We deeply value your investment in youth football.”

Many observers expressed their satisfaction with the organisers for combining the event as a platform for youth development and also celebrating the Independence Day.
