A pastor in Anambra State accused of illegally marrying other men’s wives have been arraigned in Court in Awka, the Anambra State Capital.
The General Overseer of Dayspring Assembly, Awada, Obosi, Harrison Anazodo, appeared before the Anambra State High Court sitting in Awka on Monday in a wheelchair as the court deferred his bail application hearing.
Anazodo was brought to court from Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Awka.
He was arraigned before Justice Jude Obiora by the Anambra State Government on a seven-count charge bordering on allegedly propagating the accumulation of wealth through supernatural means.
The allegation was proscribed by the Anambra State Homeland Security Law 2025, as well as murder, abduction, and the unlawful separation and isolation of individuals from their families and keeping them in his residence.
According to the court, the alleged offences were committed between year 2000 and 2025.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to all seven counts and his
counsel, W. O. Abonyi, thereafter, moved an application for bail.
However, prosecution counsel, C. V. Ononye, objected to the application, arguing that the prosecution had not been sufficiently informed and had not been given adequate notice to respond.
The court, while taking into consideration the health condition of the defendant, who had reportedly spent three weeks in the Intensive Care Unit of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, ordered that he be returned to the hospital.
The court adjourned the matter to October 12, 2026, for the hearing of the bail application and further proceedings.
Recall that Anazodo was reportedly arrested by officials of the Anambra State Government on June 10, 2026.
