Accord guber candidate unveils 4-point education agenda in Imo

Ahead of the official flagoff of his campaign for the November 11 governorship election in Imo State, the guber candidate of Accord Party in the state, Ikenga JohnJude Okere, has made public his 4-point agenda for enhancing the Education on the state, if elected governor.

In a statement issued Monday in Owerri, Okere who described education as the bedrock upon which a prosperous future for Imo State is built emphasized that every child deserves access to quality education, regardless of their background or circumstances.

 

The governorship hopeful reiterated his commitment to making education a top priority in his agenda for State’s progress and urged Imo electorate to vote en masse and vote for Accord party’s Ikenga Okere come November 11.

 

He listed his agenda for the education sector to include: improving school infrastructure by investing in the upgrading school facilities, providing conducive learning environments for students across the state via building of new classrooms, libraries, and science laboratories.

 

Apart from improving infrastructure, Ikenga Okere pointed out that enhancing ‘Teacher Quality’ would be help and accordingly recognize the pivotal role of teachers in shaping young minds through comprehensive training programs to empower teachers with the latest teaching methodologies and resources as well as provide incentives to attract and retain qualified educators.

 

According to him, expanding access to education for all children of school age irrespective of their socioeconomic and political background will be the third priority of his admission.

 

His words, “We believe in leaving no child behind. We will work towards ensuring that every child in Imo State has access to quality education. This includes providing scholarships, and implementing innovative programs to reach underserved communities.”

 

Ikenga JohnJude Okere also identified promoting technical and vocational education as one of his priorities saying, “We understand the importance of equipping our youth with practical skills for the job market. Our plan includes strengthening technical and vocational education programs, fostering partnerships with industries, and promoting entrepreneurship.”

 

He explained that by investing in education, “We are investing in the future of Imo State. We envision a state where every child receives a world-class education, where young minds are nurtured to become innovators, leaders, and change-makers.”

 

The Accord party candidate therefore enjoined Imolites to join him on the journey to create a prosperous and efficient Imo State for all by turning out in large numbers and casting their votes for the Accord and himself come November 11, 2023.
