Tonic FC Tackles Young Strikers In Final Match Of 2026 1X Cup

Grassroots football has continued to maintain its global importance to the development of football. That is why anything akin to a football revolution at the grassroots levels is desired. 

Tonic FC, founded by Alhaji Adekunle Balogun and managed by Prince Dapo Ajibade, a man with immense experience and football acumen.

Today, a grassroot football club is ruling the waves, albeit, with a refreshing niche. And it is not for nothing but the development of football.

From creating a landmark grassroots football initiative, the Kanu International Football Academy (KIFA), which is the largest football academy in Nigeria with over 120 centres of excellence across the country, he birthed a new team, Tonic Football Club, founded in 2025.

Tonic FC, based in Ikorodu town, is now ruling the waves, beginning with the historic transfer of five players in a sweep to FC Esmoriz of Portugal. Structured and professional balanced, Tonic FC, has continued to wax stronger. 

Tonic FC club, has recorded over 23 wins in 27 matches, and the impressive runs has continued in the prestigious 1X Community Cup tournament.

Participating for the first time ever in the tournament, as one of the 100 registered clubs, Tonic FC, in its imbedded DNA hinged on tactical discipline, passion, dedication, never-say-die attitude, and against all odds, the team has qualified to play in the final of the tournament. 

This crowd pulling team, is expected to hit the Inspire Arena venue of the final match with his characteristics mammoth football loving fans.

Pundits and aficionados believes the stakes are high and in favour of Tonic FC, as the football revolution continues, particularly, at the grassroot levels.
