2023: Peter Obi unveils, explains choice of Baba-Ahmed as running mate

Labour Party’s presidential flag bearer, Peter Obi has given reasons why he settled for Senator Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed as his running mate.
Obi said Baba-Ahmed is a young, vibrant and cerebral politician who shares the vision of a new Nigeria like him.
Obi said he would work with a team who can add value, hence he settled for Baba-Ahmed after several days of consultations.
It would be noted that Obi today unveiled Senator Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed as his running mate following a letter of withdrawal to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) by Dr. Doyin Okupe, who was earlier announced as the placeholder Vice Presidential nominee of the party.
Baba-Ahmed, who is the Proprietor of Baze University, Abuja and Baba-Ahmed University Kano, was a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) until recently when he joined the Labour Party.
