Coach Yakubu Names Final Squad for Africa U-18 Men’s Cadet Handball Championship
Coach Abdulhakim Yakubu has released the final list of players that will represent Nigeria at the 22nd Africa Men’s Cadet Handball Championship in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
The championship is scheduled to take place from September 15 to 22, 2026, with Nigeria drawn in Group B alongside Tunisia, Algeria and Madagascar.
The players selected by Coach Yakubu are Shaibu Friday Micheal, Chikelu Chidiebere Divine, Micheal Godstime, Mohammad Akibu, Umar Usman, Abdulkadir Huzaifa, Mohammed Shuaibu, Rufai Aliyu, Akunebu Godswill Obieze Uzoma, Sani Abdulrahman, Mohammed Zukiflu and Fashogbon Sulaimon Abayomi.
The team will travel to Abidjan on Friday to allow the players settle in and prepare adequately before hostilities commence next Tuesday.
