I have no problem with Babangida, others -Iloenyosi

By George Aluo

Chairman, Board of Trustees (BOT) of newly formed All Nigeria Football Players Union (ANFPU), Chikelue Iloenyosi has declared that he has no personal problem with Tijani Babangida and other ex internationals that are not part of ANFPU.
Iloenyosi who on Saturday fraternized with Babangida and others at the Abuja national stadium during the President’s Cup noted that he remains a friend of other ex internationals who are not part of ANFPU, but was quick to add that ANFPU was formed to rescue Nigerian ex internationals.
“Those of us who formed ANFPU did so because we believe there was the urgent need to change things when it comes to players union. As we said, for over three decades those who ran the other players union didn’t achieve anything. We needed to change the narrative and that was why we formed ANFPU and as you can see in a matter of months we have started making some impact,” Iloenyosi said.
He stressed that the doors of ANFPU is open for every ex international that wants to join.
“Our doors are open…all we are saying is that it won’t be business as usual. Those in ANFPU are men of integrity and we want to ensure that the welfare of our members comes first.”
