Diamond Academy boss, Apugo doles out palliatives
President of Umuahia based Diamond Soccer Academy, Hon. Martin Ikechukwu Apugo has given out palliates to the community where the academy is based.
Apugo while giving out the food items that included rice, tomato, oil, Indomie and spaghetti noted that this is a time to reach out to the less privileged.
He charged members of the community to ensure they adhere to all the government protocols on how to avoid contracting Coronavirus.
“This is no doubt a difficult time globally. The Coronavirus health challenge has affected people adversely as many do not know where the next meal would come from. This is why in my own little way, I decided to reach out to the community where my academy is based,” Apugo said.
He urged members of the community to maintain personal hygiene, since that is the only way to avoid being infected.
Apugo said his academy would continue to serve as spring board for talented Nigerian players to excel and rise to international stardom in the round leather game.
Diamond Academy, it would be noted, has discovered several players now plying their soccer trade in different parts of the world. The duo of Kelechi Nwakali and Spain based Chukwueze are products of the academy.
