NBBF Premier League Final 8: Ortom’s boys too brave for Wike’s Hoopers

Benue Braves and Customs Thursday joined Kwara Falcons and Rivers Hoopers in the last four of the Nigeria Basketball Premier League final 8 currently going on at the Indoor Sports Hall of National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
To get to the semi- final, the boys from the food basket of the Nation, ended Rivers Hoopers unbeaten run with a 78-66 points win in the third game of Match Day 4.
The first quarter ended 20-2 in favour of Braves, however Hoopers took the second quarter 22-18 but failed to keep the tempo as the third quarter ended 16-16 which gave Benue Braves a two points lead into the fourth and final quarter.
Aimless shooting and poor dunking as well as giving away needless fouls ruined the Hoopers chances in the final quarter which ended 8-18 in favour of Braves.
In the first game of Match Day 4, Kano Pillars were ruthless as they humiliated Lagos Islanders 79-39 points which is the biggest win in the competition but despite that huge win Kano Pillars could not make it to the last four.
Gombe Bulls also had a massive win as they over ran Police Baton 74-39. 18-10, 9-4, 24-16 and 23-9.
In the last game of the day, the Nigerian Customs ended Kwara Falcons unbeaten run with an 80-72 points win which landed them in the semi -final.
On Friday, Customs will confront Hoopers in the first semi -final game while Falcons battles Benue Braves in the other semi- final match
Both games will be a repeat of Match Day 1 of the NBBF Premier League Final 8.
On that occasion, Kwara Falcons defeated Benue Braves 65-58 and Rivers Hoopers stopped Nigeria Customs 62-60.
