Nigeria Pro- Wrestling Federation set for Battle Ground 2024 challenge

All is now set for the much talked about two days wrestling extravaganza tagged ‘Battle Ground 2024’ contest which will hold from April 5-6 at the Big Apple Royale Hotel and Suites situated at 1/3 Salvation Army Street, Oke-Afa, Isolo, Lagos
Disclosing this to our correspondent, President of the wrestling body, High Chief John Uche noted that the championship is one of the series of competitions lined up this year to not only keep wrestlers in top form but also to make the mats man game regain it’s lost glory.
He further explained that the two day competition which will involve some of the best mats men and women in the country will have the Senior Special Adviser to Lagos State Governor on Grassroots Sports Development, Hon. Adebanji Adeoye Atewogboye as the Special Guest of Honour.
” Right now, we’re ready to go and give Nigerians the best of wrestling actions they’ve not witnessed for a long time now. All the wrestlers are in killer mood and waiting for the commencement date when they will showcase their talents to the fans which will include the Senior Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Grassroots Sports Development, Hon. Adebanji Adeoye Atewogboye who will be the Special Guest of Honour”, he noted.
High Chief Uche listed some of the wrestlers that will be in action to include; Mighty Man, Mr. Sharpman, Ali King, Rasman Iron, Strong Bone Erukujeje and Lady Famous.
Others are; Alexandria De Queen, Iron Lady Becky, Mighty Progress and Captain Dunga.
Also expected to entertain wrestling fans during the two day event are; Stylish J, Zion Lion and Power Vic.
The wrestling boss further explained that the Federation is using the championship to prepare grounds for more tournaments lined up for the year noting that plans are at advanced stage to hold another championship in Ogun State that will coincide with the state’s hosting of the 22nd National Sports Festival later in the year.
High Chief Uche while commending the Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Enoh for his giant strives since assumption of office appealed to him to take special interest in professional wrestling as the sports is capable of not only creating employment opportunities for the country’s teeming youths but will also help in reducing crime and other social vices among the youths as well as put Nigeria in the sports map of the world.
He also used the opportunity to appeal to wrestling fans to troop out in their thousands and be part of the wrestling championship, promising them that there will be no dull moment throughout the duration of the championship.
