By George Aluo

Japan, the land of the rising sun is simply the new soccer super power of the world.

After beating Germany in their first game by 2-1, the Japanese went ahead Thursday night to beat Spain by the same margin.

The victory saw Japan top the group and also saw Germany bow out of the tournament.

Though Germany won Costa Rica by 4-2 it was not enough to keep them in Qatar.

It would be the second consecutive time Germany would exit the World Cup in the first round. It is recalled that they also crashed out of the World Cup in the first round in Russia four years ago.
