Former Director General of National Sports Commission (NSC) Dr Patrick Ekeji has endorsed the inclusion of the duo of Prof. E.O. Morakinyo and Enitan Oshodi as members of caretaker committees set up last week for the nation’s sports federations by the sports ministry.
Ekeji in an exclusive chat with newstap.com.ng said Sports minister, Sunday Dare has done well by going for the duo who he noted have what it takes to lift Nigerian sports and the Nigeria Olympics Committee (NOC).
It would be noted that Ekeji who is one of the nation’s best brains in the sports sector had last week okayed the steps taken by Dare to dissolve the sports federations ahead of the Olympics.
In Ekeji’s words…”I endorse Moraks and Oshodi, they are fit and proper. The two have all the ingredients of leadership requisite to turn around and reposition our NOC as a focal institution for improved perception of our Sports Development (SD) globally and especially among corporate Nigeria. It would be noted that the sports ministry on Sunday replaced the duo of Habu Gumel and Banji Oladapo and drafted in Prof Morakinyo and Oshodi into the caretaker committees of the sports federations.
