Lagos State University boxing coach, Akinola Opeyemi said the University management decided to organise demonstration in boxing to enable organisers of the FUSA Games realize that undergraduates love the pugilist game and including it in subsequent editions of the Games as a medal awarding sports will help in enhancing the physical fitness and alertness of the students.
On Monday, the boxing arena of Lagos State University, Ojo came alive with boxing tournament between the school’s boxing club and some boxing clubs within Ojo and it’s environs and Coach Opeyemi believes that the large turnout of students and staff to watch the fights is an indication that boxing is still one of the most loved sports in the world.
