The EUROMATCH NPFL SHOW is set to take Nigerian domestic football closer to fans across the country through Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa-language presentations, featuring three indigenous sports broadcasters representing different regions and audiences on Monday, October 5, 2026

The multilingual football programme brings together Olawale Hamzat “Top Striker”, Obinna Chineke, and Isma’eel Abba Tangalashi “TangaSports”, who will anchor the Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa editions respectively.

The programme is focused on delivering regular and concise information on the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), including news, match results, fixtures, league standings, player performances, club developments, transfers, coaching matters, match previews and reviews.

YORUBA VOICE — OLAWALE HAMZAT “TOP STRIKER”

Leading the Yoruba edition is Olawale Hamzat, popularly known as “Top Striker,” one of the familiar voices of Yoruba sports broadcasting in Ibadan.

Hamzat will represent the Yoruba-speaking audience through Lagelu 96.7 FM, Ibadan, where he is billed to anchor the Yoruba edition of the EUROMATCH NPFL SHOW.

He has also been associated with Splash 105.5 FM, building a career around Yoruba-language sports presentation, football analysis and audience engagement.

His selection for EUROMATCH adds another major platform to a broadcasting career that has earned him awards, professional recognition and a strong identity in indigenous sports broadcasting.

Olawale Hamzat “Top Striker” has received notable recognition for his contribution to indigenous sports broadcasting.

In 2018, he won the Best Indigenous Sports Presenter category at the PERA Awards, an achievement that brought further recognition to his work in indigenous-language sports broadcasting.

His professional profile also identifies him as the recipient of the 2019 Best Yoruba Sports PERA Award, further highlighting his recognition in Yoruba sports presentation.

Hamzat has also received recognition for his wider contribution to sports and youth development.
In 2021, he was among personalities presented with a special recognition award, where he was identified as an ace sports presenter with Lagelu FM.

Beyond awards, Top Striker has played a visible role in Yoruba sports broadcasting in Ibadan, including the popular Jekanmo sports programme and outdoor broadcast activities that brought sports radio closer to audiences in different parts of the city. Academic research documenting the programme also identifies Hamzat as a popular Ibadan radio broadcaster and Yoruba sports presenter.

These achievements have helped establish Top Striker as one of the recognisable names in Yoruba-language sports broadcasting, making his selection for the Yoruba edition of EUROMATCH another notable chapter in his media career.

IGBO VOICE — OBINNA CHINEKE

Obinna Chineke has been selected as the Igbo indigenous sports presenter for the EUROMATCH NPFL SHOW, representing Darling 107.3 FM, Owerri.

Chineke brings experience in Igbo-language broadcasting to the programme.

In 2020, he was reported as the recipient of the Best Male Igbo Presenter award at the Imo On Air Personality Media Awards, while the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Imo State Council, also recognised him as an outstanding Igbo presenter that year.

He was also listed among the nominees for Presenter of the Year (Igbo) at the Governor Hope Uzodimma Media Excellence Awards in 2023.

His inclusion gives Igbo-speaking football followers another platform to follow NPFL developments through indigenous-language sports broadcasting.

HAUSA VOICE — ISMA’EEL ABBA TANGALASHI “TANGASPORTS”

Isma’eel Abba Tangalashi, popularly identified as TangaSports, has been selected as the Hausa indigenous sports presenter for the EUROMATCH NPFL SHOW.

Tangalashi will represent the Hausa-speaking audience through Premier Radio 102.7 FM, Kano.

The Hausa edition will provide listeners with updates and discussions surrounding the NPFL, including fixtures, results, league standings, club activities, player performances, transfers, coaching developments, match previews and reviews.

His participation gives the EUROMATCH project representation in the northern part of the country and provides Hausa-speaking football followers with an avenue to follow Nigerian domestic football in their indigenous language.
