Edo Deputy Gov, Mrs Obaseki, Gusau, IMC Boss Commend Sportsville Awards

More accolades have continued to pour in for the organisers of the annual Sportsville Recognition Awards, following a successful ceremony last Saturday in Lagos.
The Deputy Governor of Edo State, Rt Hon Philip Shaibu, joined other stakeholders to commend Sportsville, saying he was elated to see this year’s edition come out successful.
Comrade Shaibu, who was represented by the former Lagos State Sports Commission Chairman, Dr Kweku Tandoh, said he did not expect anything less.
“I was excited to hear that the event was highly successful, I say kudos to the Organisers,” Shaibu, who was the Special Guest of Honour for the event said.
He added; “I’ve come to associate Sportsville with credible Awards since they stated two years ago and as a proud recipient of the first edition in 2021, I can say that this is one ceremony that is worthy of celebration by the awardees.
“That’s why I am excited that my First Lady in Edo State, Mrs Betsy Obaseki, was deservedly recognised. by the organisers.
“Those of us in Edo State and the nation in general can attest to the huge impact the annual Betsy Obaseki Women Football Tournament is making as a tool for girl child empowerment.”
Also speaking in the same vein, the Chairman of Interim League Management Committee, Hon Gbenga Elegbeleye, who was among the Special Guests on the night said the organisers deserve a pat on the back for recognizing credible Nigerians every year.
“You guys are doing a very good job, I am happy with the quality of awardees you turn out every year, keep it up.
“For example, I have been following the good job the First Lady of Edo State, Mrs Betsy Obaseki, is doing with the Betsy Obaseki Women Football Tournament, she sure deserves the award.”
The President of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ibrahim Gusau, who was represented by Aisha Falode also lauded the organisers.
“I am happy that people that are supporting the development of sports are been recognised, that will no doubt spur them to do more. All thanks to Sportsville for spearheading this.”
In her own response, Mrs Obaseki, one of the recipients, said she is not into getting Awards because most do it for pecuniary purposes.
“But I have to accept this from Sportsville because of its credibility. I am excited to be among the distinguished awardees this year.
“My charge to the Organisers is that they should take this award to the next level. Sportsville Awards deserves to go places and I encourage all to support it, especially the corporate organisations,” she added.
Others who got recognition on the nite included the Gov of Bayelsa State, Sen Doyle Diri, the General Overseer of the Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries (MFM), Dr Daniel Olukoya, Taye Ige, Dr Patrick Ekeji and Kunle Soname.
The list also included Tunji Brown, Purity Akuh, Emmanuel Etim, Barr Paul Edeh, Tayo Popoola and Col Sam Ahmedu.
Supersports and Zenith Bank got recognition in the corporate category while late Brown Ebewele was given posthumous Award.
