Egberipou Commends Chief Obasanjo’s Consistent National Squash Sponsorship

President of the Nigeria Squash Federation, Sunday Wilson Egberipou ,has commended former President of Nigeria, His Excellency, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo for his consistent sponsorship of the annual Chief Olusegun Obasanjo National Squash Championship .
According to Egberipou , the championship has continued to turn out quality players that are always in the forefront of Nigeria Squash and representing the country in international competitions such as the 2026 World U-19 Junior Squash Championship held in Canada.
Prominent among the players are Onaopemipo Adegoke who defeated Yusuf Quadri 3-0 to win the men’s title of the just concluded 8th edition held from 17-22 August, 2026 and Awawu Balogun that claimed the Ladies title at the expense of Mostura Durosinlorun whom she beat 3-1 in the final.
Others include, Temilolu Adegoke, Oladipupo Ayomide, Delight Alison, Aishat Abdulraheem, not forgetting the U-17 players like Friday Daniel, Omotayo Ayomide, Mitchel Etuk-Udo, Peter Adeleke, Zainab Ishola, Gift Ulisis, and Loveth Balogun to mention a few.
Egberipou insists that programmes such as the Chief Obasanjo National Squash Championship is what the Nigeria Squash Federation needs to keep Nigeria players busy and consistent the year round and appealed to corporate organizations and well meaning individuals to emulate the good gestures of His Excellency, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo by sponsoring National Squash championships for Nigerian youths.
