Ex Rangers, 042 Football Legends Association make strong presence at Igweonu’s burial

Members of the nation’s football family, especially ex Rangers and the 042 Football Legends Association made a strong presence today at the burial of former Green Eagles star, Chukwuma Igweonu in Anambra.

Chikelue Iloenyosi who stood in for NFF president Amaju Melvin Pinnick expressed happinness over the massive presence of the football stakeholders at the burial of the soccer legend who passed on at 83.

“We have accorded this great Nigerian legend the last respect. He was a great player. We pray God to grant him eternal rest,” Chikelue said.

Some of the football buffs that attended the burial ceremony included Rangers GM Davidson Owumi, Emmanuel Okala, Emman Osuigwe, Oliver Ndigwe, Hakeem Ashiru, Sunday Eze, Henry Ubong, Ifeanyi Kalu, Emeka Nwobodo, Benedict Ugwu, Ekenne Ikenwa, Obinna Onyia, Sunday Egwuonwu and Bethel Orji.

Igweonwu was buried at his Umuakwelo Etiti Village, in Enugwu-Agidi, Njikoka LGA of Anambra State.
