Gusau: Super Eagles won’t disappoint Nigerians

President of the nation’s soccer governing body, NFF, Ibrahim Gusau is confident the Super Eagles will not disappoint Nigerians at the Nations Cup which kicks off this weekend in Côte d’Ivoire.

Gusau who spoke to Nigerian journalist Callistus Ebare moments after arriving Abidjan said the Eagles are in high spirits ahead of their first game on Sunday against Equitorial Guinea.

The hardworking NFF boss said there is nothing to worry over the injury that has ruled out Sadiq Umar insisting that it is better it is happening now rather than during the tournament proper.

In his words, “Let me start by thanking God for our safe arrival. Our team has since settled down and preparing for the task ahead. The few injury report is nothing to worry about. It is better it is happening now before kick off and not when the tournament has started…I urge Nigerians to pray for the team. The boys need all the support and prayers to win the tournament. I am very confident they won’t disappoint. We are in Abidjan to do it again.”
