Fire wrecks havoc at Trinity Close, Olodi Apapa, Lagos, destroys residential apartment

It was a disastrous Thursday night in the Olodi Apapa area of Lagos when fire wrecked havoc destroying a two story building at number 5 Trinity Close.
The fire started at about 10 pm apparently as a result of several fluctuation of electricity which saw public power supply coming and going intermittently.
Occupants of the building raised alarmed with help coming from residents who however could not do much until the arrival of men of the Lagos State Fire Service.
The raging fire was prevented from destroying the adjacent buildings by the Fire Service who arrived with two of their trucks.
One of the men whose flat was gutted by the fire Mr Stanley was too shocked for words having lost every household items. He said he managed to escape with his wife and kids after he failed to save the situation with the fire extinguishers in his apartment.
The police at the nearby Trinity Divisional Headquarters also arrived the scene of the fire outbreak to provide security after being alerted by residents of the area. The DPO deployed a team that arrived in their operational vehicle.
The bewildered residents of the street were however grateful to God that the fire did not spread to the other buildings.
Secretary of Trinity Residents Association (TCA) Emmanuel Anenye commended the police at Trinity Division for responding and getting the Fire Service to do the job of putting up the fire.
“It would have been a more terrible situation if the police, fire service and residents had not combined to put off the fire,” he said.
