Group lauds Gov. Soludo’s initiatives so far

By Peter Ejiofor
As Anambra people set agenda for Gov. Chukwuma Soludo, An NGO, Anambra Masses for Good Governance (AMAGG), has commended him for the initiative he had taken after his inauguration.

Prof. Chukwuma Soludo was inaugurated as the sixth elected governor of Anambra State on March 17.

Mr Ikechukwu Anyene, the President of AMAGG, said in a statement made available to newsmen on Sunday in Lagos that Soludo’s administration’s initiatives so far were signs of the good things to come.

“AMAGG wishes to commend Gov. Soludo for his administration’s decision to rebuild Okpoko, a suburb near Onitsha.

“We also commend the state government’s decision to ban all illegal revenue collections in the state.

“We hope that as he settles down, the mechanisms for internally generated revenue will be reinvigorated to shore up the state’s revenue base,’’ Anyene said.

According to him, these positive moves are signs that Soludo means well for the people of Anambra.

“AMAGG also urges Soludo’s administration to remember other critical sectors in the state such as security, youth employment, agriculture, health and education.

“These and others are very important sectors that deserve attention. We are optimistic that Soludo’s administration will deliver in these sectors.

Anyene appealed to the people of Anambra to support the new administration in the state to deliver on its promises and ensure good governance.
