Stars asserted their dominance in their MatchDay 2 fixtures of the Ogunjobi Gold Cup, with the heavyweights recording emphatic wins.

Inter Lagos set the pace for the day, putting two goals past Abakaliki FC inside the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta.

It was a drab opening 45 minutes that had few shots on target, with Inter Lagos not converting their half chances, while De Rice Boys couldn’t break their opponent’s backline.

With 17 minutes to end the tie, two more goals came from Shola Bada, who doubled the lead for the ‘Oga Boys’ in the 73rd minute, while Ikechukwu Junior did the damage, putting the icing on the cake with the third goal in the 84th minute.

It was a mix of events for Stormers SC and Doma United, as both teams, who are yet to earn a point, suffered a second loss each.
