Gusau 4+4 Solidarity Forum Commends NFF Over Eric Chelle’s Contract Renewal

A football stakeholders’ group, the Gusau 4+4 Solidarity Forum, has commended the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), under the presidency of Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau (MON), for swiftly renewing the contract of Super Eagles Head Coach Eric Chelle for another two years.
The forum described the decision as a significant step towards ensuring stability and continuity in the national team setup, noting that Chelle has made remarkable progress since taking charge of the Super Eagles.
According to the group, the Malian tactician has performed admirably, with the national team losing only one match in regulation time under his leadership. The lone defeat came in a recent international friendly against Portugal, where the Super Eagles suffered a 2-1 loss last week.
Speaking on behalf of the forum, the North Central Coordinator, Ochoga Ameh, said the contract extension would allow Chelle to continue the rebuilding process he has already commenced with the senior national team.
Ameh expressed confidence that the coach now has the opportunity to focus on strengthening the squad and working towards securing Nigeria’s qualification for the 2030 FIFA World Cup, while also targeting success at the next edition of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
“What Nigerian football needs at this point is continuity. Stability in the coaching crew will contribute immensely to the development of football in the country, which has remained one of the key objectives of the NFF President, Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau,” Ameh said.
He added that the forum believes the NFF leadership has demonstrated commitment to the growth of Nigerian football through strategic decisions aimed at sustaining progress within the national teams.
The Gusau 4+4 Solidarity Forum is a football stakeholders’ group advocating for the re-election of Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau for another four-year term as President of the Nigeria Football Federation, citing his efforts towards the development and advancement of football across the country.
