Handball Federation Launches MatchVision, a New Digital Platform for Video Analysis and Match Intelligence

Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN) has announced the official launch of HFN MatchVision, a new digital platform for live match analysis and video intelligence built to support coaches, referees, and statisticians across Nigerian handball.

HFN MatchVision brings together real-time event recording, video review, tactical tools, and automated reporting in a single system.

According to the Federation, Statisticians can run the Live Match Centre to control the clock, log goals, shots, fouls, cards, and 7-metre throws, and keep the public scoreboard updated in real time while Coaches can upload full match recordings, draw and annotate footage, bookmark key moments, and build training clips tagged by attack, defence, goalkeeping, or set plays.

Referees also have a dedicated space to review incidents, cards, and 7M decisions and generate reports.

Once a match ends, MatchVision automatically drafts a performance report that can be exported as a professional PDF complete with scoreline, team statistics, leaders, events, bookmarks and clips for clubs, coaches and officials.

The platform also powers a public live-scores page, giving fans and officials real-time access to ongoing matches.

To mark the launch, HFN, says it’s offering a one-month free trial to all registered users, who can sign up and select the role that matches their role.

Speaking on the launch, President of the Handball Federation of Nigeria, Jibril Saidu Ojih (FNIQS), described it as a milestone for the sport in Nigeria:

“HFN MatchVision is a major step forward for handball development in this country. For too long, our coaches, referees, and statisticians have had to work without the kind of data and video tools that top handball nations take for granted.

This platform changes that. It gives our technical crews the intelligence they need to make better decisions, develop players faster, and officiate with greater confidence.”

Ojih also commended the Federation’s ICT team for developing the platform in-house:

“I want to specially commend our ICT team for this innovation. What they have built rivals what you would find in far more resourced federations, and they did it with a deep understanding of what our coaches and match officials actually need on the ground. This is what happens when talent is given the room to innovate for the good of Nigerian handball.”

The HFN President encouraged all coaches, referees, and statisticians affiliated with the Federation to take advantage of the free trial and begin using MatchVision for upcoming league and championship fixtures.

The Federation announced that MatchVision is available now and that users can sign up and explore the platform at https://handballnigeria.info/matchvision, with public live scores accessible via the Federation’s live scores page.
