Igwebuike, ex-Rangers chairman USA tasks NFF

Donald ‘Stone’ Igwebuike was one of those who made Rangers tick in the heydays of the club back in the 70s and 80s.
The USA based former Rangers star who is today the chairman of ex-Rangers in the States has not forgotten his root.
Igwebuike who lives in Maryland yesterday called up top officials of the nation’s soccer governing body, NFF tasking them to stay safe and ensure that Nigerian football bounces back strong after the Covid 19 Pandemic.
Chikelue Iloenyosi, SA to NFF president on security matters, who confirmed this much to newstap.com.ng said he is happy Igwebuike has Nigerian football at the back of his mind at this very challenging times.
“Igwebuike was one of those who inspired me to play for Rangers. As a kid I watched Igwebuike play and today he is doing well in the States. I m happy he got in touch with us here back home at this time. He wants every member of the football family to stay safe and plan ahead for the game. He wants Nigerian football to come out of this stronger. My boss, Amaju Melvin Pinnick appreciates this solidarity from Igwebuike and members of ex-Rangers in USA.”

Iloenyosi said he is looking forward to next year when ex-Rangers would hold their annual re union in USA, even as noted that the event this year has been cancelled because of the Coronavirus Pandemic.
“God willing we would be in USA next year to celebrate Rangers which is the pride of Nigeria and the Igbo nation.”
