FASU Games: UNILAG Volleyball Team show class against Team LASU

The University of Lagos Volleyball team at the ongoing All Africa University Games proved too strong for Team LASU to handle as they dominated their co- host in all the department of the match.
The more adventurous UNILAG team dictated the pace of the one sided game from the first quarter to the last quarter to win the game 3-0.
First quarter ended 25- 5 in favour of UNILAG while the second quarter ended 25-2.
UNILAG came into the third and final quarter more determined not to allow their opponents take any set and it paid off with their good shots, defence and strike which ensured they ended the game 25- 4 to the admiration of students and fans who trooped out in their numbers at the Volleyball Court of University of Lagos to see the co- hosts size up each other.
Speaking after the match, Coach of Lagos State University , Honawon. H. Philip commended his players for their efforts, noting that they have done well and that one cannot play more than his ability.
According to him, they will take a lesson from the game and plan well ahead of their next game against Ghana just as he stated that his team is for the future.
In his remarks, University of Lagos Coach, Christopher Amata said he had expected serious challenge from their opponents but was happy that they dominated all the quarters.
Coach Amata popularly known as Coach Napo who said his target is to win gold noted that they will go back and plan well ahead of their next game against University of Ghana whom he hope will give them serious challenge because they have good volleyball players
” The game against LASU cannot be described as a match because most of their players are like baseball players but am happy that we won.

” I have already told my players to expect a stronger opposition from Ghana because they have a good volleyball culture and that was where I made my name in volleyball. I don’t know the players they’ll be parading but what I can assure everybody is that we’ll give them a good flight,”, he. sounded with confidence.
