Imo guber: I’ve not come out to joke -JohnJude Okere, Accord Party candidate

Governorship candidate of the Accord party, for the November 11 guber election in Imo State, Ikenga JohnJude Uchenna Okere has dismissed insinuations in certain quarters that the coming elections is a straight fight between the ruling APC, PDP and APGA candidates only saying he is not in the race for the mere fun of contesting election.
Okere who made the assertion weekend during an interactive session with selected journalists, declared, “I did not get into the current governorship race by chance or accident but wilfully and prepared to win and impact positively on Imolites.”
The ex-seminarian and global president of St. Peter Claver Seminary, Okpala Old Boys Association, said he would surprise many naysayers at the end of the polls although he is going to pursue his ambition with utmost sense of responsibility and decorum.
According to him, Imolites are tired of bad governance occasioned by inept leadership and are in desperate need of someone to navigate the state out of the curve to a better plain.
Ikenga Okere who hails from Ihitte Okwe in Ngor Okpala LGA of Imo State assured that he is not in the race to criticize those running with him nor would he be giving excuses with failures of past leaders but has come to do more strategic in doing government business, when elected to serve.
Commenting on his plans for the state,if elected governor, Okere said, “I have come to because this is the time to practically show direction using leadership because if we have to get rid of the scourge of misgovernance, somebody has to stand up to take the challenge. And I am here for the challenge.”
He promised to be frugal in management of government resources by consciously cutting cost of governance and objectively redistribute public resources to reach all segments of the citizenry.
JohnJude Okere who is a Creative Intelligence Consultant, Creative Design and Print Consultant, poet, author and publisher called Imo people to look away from the traditional political alliances and vote for the Accord Party in November in order to create a new paradigm in the governance of the state.
