Miracle of Aba! That was what happened Wednesday night when Enyimba scored a last minute goal against South Africa’s Orlando Pirates that saw them romp into the quarterfinals of the CAF Confederation Cup.
The Aba giants fought until the very last minute when Cyril Olisemah struck in the 95th minute from close range. He finished up a cross provided by Gernot Rohr’s boy Anayo.
With the victory, Enyimba finished the very difficult group on nine points thus qualifying alongside their stubborn South African opponents who also finished with nine points.
The two North African teams in the group, Setif of Algeria and Ahli Benghazi of Libya got eliminated. Setif last night defeated Ahli by a lone goal to finish with eight points which was not enough to see them through.
