Spires 5-Aside Tourney Moves To Epe

The football fever continues as the Spires 5-Aside Naija Street Soccer Tournament moves to Epe for its Divisional Qualifiers.

The second season of the widely followed grassroots football tourney has completed hostilities in Ikeja, and Ikorodu were six-teams in both divisions secured their spots in the state Championship.

It’s now the turn of the residents of Epe to have a feel of the “Spires” excitement as the country’s most prestigious 5-Aside football tourney touch down in their neighborhood this Saturday. Eight accredited teams from the aquatic division will lock-horns for the three tickets on offer for the state tournament.

The action begins on May 31st at the TST Pitch- Epe Expressway, Bogije, Ibeju Lekki, Lagos. Net Breakers FC will file out against De Ultimate SA, while Papa SA will entertain Toprocks FC. The hostilities continue on Sunday June 1st. Olaodus FC will square up against Flames FC, and Angos Sports will file out against Pekings FC.

Aside a ticket to the state championship, the winner will receive the sum of N500,000. The runner-up will pocket N300,000, while the third placed side will get N100,000 in prize money.

Sixteen teams across the five divisions in Lagos will compete in the main event later this year. With three teams each qualifying from the divisions, the overall best loser will claim the remaining one spot at the end of the divisional qualifiers.
