IX Cup 2026: Africano Fc Shoots Down Mido Saka FA

Africano Fc lived up to pre- match predictions, as they defeated Mido Saka FA 3-0 in Match No 44 of the ongoing IX Cup 2026 tournament being played at Inspire Sports Arena ( NITEL) playground Oshodi.

The match which was played Friday, August,14, 2026, saw both teams giving a good account of themselves in the first half to the delight of the fans, but missed chances in front of goal by Africano made the half end goalless.

On resumption of the second half, Africano took the game to their opponents area, looking for the curtain raiser which eventually came when Adekunle Adetomiwa beat the overside trap of Mido Saka FA to slot in the curtain raiser.

This goal brought out the best in Africano who continued mounting pressure on their opponents goal area which resulted in the second goal through Jamiu Bakare.

Not quite long after the second goal, substitute,
Adeniyi Ismail was brought down in their opponent’s goal area, with Onyeka Daniel converting the resultant penalty to ensure the game ends 3-0 in favour of Africano FC.

At the end of the encounter, Adekunle Adetomiwa was declared the Man of the Match.

With this result, Africano has now moved to the next stage of the most popular grassroots football tournament in the country.

Speaking on the match, President of Africano Fc, Rev. Amb. Samuel Ikpea expressed happiness that his players came out victorious noting that the team will post more impressive result as the championship progresses.

” I must have to congratulate the players for giving a good account of themselves today. Although they lost many scoring chances in the first half but I’m happy they rediscovered their goal scoring form in the second half which gave us victory.
