Karate Federation President Dimkpa Rallies Team Nigeria Ahead of Commonwealth Games

As Team Nigeria begins its campaign at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, the President of the Karate Federation of Nigeria (KFN), Engr. Chukwudi Dimkpa, has wished the nation’s athletes and officials a successful, injury-free, and memorable outing.

In his goodwill message, Engr. Dimkpa prayed for God’s protection over every member of Team Nigeria throughout the competition and expressed confidence in their ability to make the nation proud through outstanding performances.

“I wish Team Nigeria a successful and hitch-free outing at the Commonwealth Games. My prayers are with every athlete and official for God’s protection throughout the Games. I have no doubt that our athletes possess the talent, discipline, determination, and the resilient Nigerian spirit of ‘never say never’ to win gold medals and secure several podium finishes for our country,” he said.

The KFN President noted that although karate is not one of the sports featured at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, the federation stands firmly behind Team Nigeria and joins millions of Nigerians in supporting the country’s representatives on the international stage.

Engr. Dimkpa also commended the Director General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Hon. Bukola Olopade, for his unwavering commitment to the preparation and welfare of Team Nigeria.
He praised the NSC leadership for working tirelessly to ensure that Nigerian athletes receive the necessary technical, medical, logistical, and welfare support required to compete at the highest level and represent the nation with pride.

He urged all Nigerians to unite in support of Team Nigeria, expressing optimism that the country’s contingent would return home with medals and performances that would inspire the next generation of athletes.
