By George Aluo

Goalwire! That was what Liverpool went on this afternoon at Crystal Palace beating the boys of Roy Hodgson by 7-0 in what could pass for a “seven star” performance by the EPL champions.

Liverpool made their intention of making it a comprehensive win very early in the game when Takumi Minamino scored after only three minutes of action.

Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino doubled the lead in the 34th and 44th minute with scores standing at 3-0 in the first half.

Liverpool came out against smoking in the second half with Mohammed Sallah coming off from the bench to score a brace, even as skipper of the side Henderson also found the net.

The game was one in which Palace that paraded Nigerian born Eberechi Eze and Ghanaian Ayew threw away the few chances that came their way, especially in the first half. For Palace, the defeat is the heaviest in their home ground in the EPL.

Liverpool have now gone six points clear on top of the table with 31 points. Second placed Tottenham would tomorrow face Leicester City.
