MOB Taekwondo : Why we’re Unveiling New Equipment –Popoola
President of Nigeria Taekwondo Federation, Tayo Kuburat Popoola has revealed the reason for Unveiling New Equipment for taekwondo.
Speaking at the indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium, Surulere Lagos, on the eve of Thursday 17 September, 2026 evening, Popoola hinted that for the sport of Taekwondo to grow beyond its present position in the country, the athletes need modern equipment to train and train well.
“You cannot watch your players train with obsolete equipment and expect them to excel?, That is not possible, hence the unveiling of the newest equipment we acquired.
“Taekwondo is a dynamic and living sport that is fast growing and we must follow the trend by falling in else we’ll be left behind.
” We sincerely want to use the opportunity of the Michael Opeyemi Bamidele championship to unveil these equipment.
After the Unveiling, the athletes are expected to train with the equipment before the event proper.
As a Federation, it is our duty to give the athletes equal opportunity to train and master the equipment.
“Once again, I want to express my gratitude to our distinguished Senator, Michael Opeyemi Bamidele ( MOB) for the sponsorship of this all imprtant championship which will help in sharpening the skills of our National team athletes for future challenges.
