NFAF National Camp Opens Saturday at Meadow Hall

The Nigeria Federation of American Football (NFAF) will officially commence its national training camp on Saturday at Meadow Hall, Lekki, Lagos as preparations intensify for the selection of players that will form Nigeria’s national teams for upcoming international engagements.
All selected players have been directed to report to camp as the federation begins what officials describe as a crucial phase in the journey toward building a competitive national team structure.
Speaking ahead of the opening of camp, the federation’s Technical Director, Bodunrin Sasore, confirmed that the technical crew and federation coaches are fully prepared for the exercise, stressing that the process of identifying the best talents in the country has now entered a more advanced stage.
“The coaches and I will be there because, as the person responsible for everything technical, I am working closely with the federation coaches to ensure the camp runs successfully,” Sasore said.
He added that the camping exercise will focus on player assessment, team structure, discipline, tactical understanding, and physical preparation as the federation gradually narrows its selection for the national teams.
According to him, all activities are scheduled to begin promptly at 8:00 a.m., with players expected to arrive early and fully prepared for the intensive sessions ahead.
The opening of camp marks another important milestone for the NFAF following the recently concluded nationwide tryouts, which attracted strong participation from players across different leagues and regions.
Stakeholders believe the camping programme represents a major step in the federation’s broader vision to establish a solid technical foundation for American football in Nigeria while creating opportunities for talented athletes to compete internationally.
With anticipation building around the next phase of selection, attention will now shift to Meadow Hall, where coaches and officials begin the difficult task of shaping the future of Nigeria’s national American football teams.
