Edo Guber: Shaibu’s ill-fated guber ambition, fueled by entitlement mentality -Group

A group known as Concerned Edo Citizens has described the rantings of Edo State Deputy Governor, Comrade Philip Shaibu as rantings of a drowning man whose governorship ambition was fuelled by entitlement mentality.

The group in a statement signed by Patrick Usifo said they have been inundated by Shaibu’s infantile display of adult delinquency in the 2024 Governorship Election in the state.

The group said that Shaibu lacked the experience to govern the state despite serving in a various offices before he was elected Deputy Governor.

The group stated: “Our attention has been drawn to a statement credited to the Deputy Governor of Edo State, Comrade Philip Shaibu wherein he claimed he can defeat any governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the coveted seat of Dennis Osadebay House.

“Ordinarily, we wouldn’t bother ourselves with the rantings of a drowning man whose only ambition of becoming Governor is fueled by entitlement mentality without recourse to existing zoning and political exigencies of the state.

“Shaibu is not only power-drunk but a bull in a China shop whose sole aim is to become Governor of Edo State through any means necessary.

“Every true democrat, should ordinarily be concerned on how the party can win elections rather than empty boasts which does no one any good.

“As a group we consider the utterances of Mr Deputy Governor as reckless, offensive, derogatory and unethical.

“His unguarded and disparaging comments on the next Governor of the state can best be described as wishful thinking.

“Mr Deputy Governor despite having served in several capacities in government is not a match to our candidate whose pedigree is globally acclaimed by industry stakeholders.

“We express dissatisfaction with the conduct of Shaibu and we urge him to pursue his ill-fated and misadvised ambition with professionalism and decorum.

“We urge his supporters, particularly those he listens to, to call him to order to avoid heating up the polity in the run down to the Governorship election of 2024,”
