NNL Opener: Ebonyi Governor, Nwifuru lifts Abakiliki FC, Madiba with cash

The Governor of Ebonyi State has expressed appreciation to the board of Nigeria National League for having the 2024/2025 season opener in Abakiliki even as he donated N1 million to the state team with a promise to support the team in it’s campaign.
The Governor who was impressed with the 2-2 draw played by the Abakiliki FC and Madiba FC also extended the largeese to the visiting team noting that he’s governor for all.
” I’m very happy that the NNL considered Ebonyi State and particularly Abakiliki as venue for their seasons opener and am highly impressed with the performance of both teams.
” In order to show my appreciation and support for Abakiliki FC, I am donating N1 million to the team and also another N1 million to the visiting team because I am governor for all”, said the governor.
Meanwhile, NNL Chairman, Mr. George Aluo has commended Ebonyi State Governor for hosting the NNL Opener; saying that the board will ever be grateful to him
” We’re happy with the reception accorded to us by the Ebonyi State Government which is an indication that the governor is a sports loving governor and we shall ever be grateful to him
” It’s equally important that I commend both Abakiliki FC and Madiba FC for the good football artistry they displayed and we hope to see more quality football this season”, he assured.
