NNL Super 4: Sporting Lagos Dismantles Doma, as Inter Lagos bounces back against Ranchers

The two Lagos teams taking part in the Nigeria National League ( NNL) Super 4 were in superlative form Wednesday on Matchday 2 of the tournament currently going on at the Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne, Ogun State.
Inter Lagos who lost their first game 0-1 to Doma Fc bounced back strongly against Ranchers Bees, defeating the side 2-0
The first half was keenly contested, with both sides cancelling each other out and heading into the break at 0-0.
But the breakthrough came immediately after the restart in the 47th minute, when Qoyum Akinpelu unleashed a powerful strike from inside the box to put Inter Lagos ahead at 1-0. From that moment, they grew in confidence and began to take control of the game.
In the 70th minute, Qoyum Akinpelu was brought down inside the box to win a penalty and captain Bayo Oyedele, wasted no time in converting from the spot kick to make it 2-0, effectively grabbing the three points at stake.
In the second match of the day, Sporting Lagos which is still basking in the euphoria of beating Ranchers Bees 1-0 in their Matchday 1 encounter rediscovered their scoring form, as they defeated Doma Fc 4-0 to p ensure they’re one step ahead of being crowned champion of NNL for 2025/2026 season.
With this result, Sporting Lagos is now on top of the table with six points from two matches, while Inter Lagos and Doma are on three points each after the same number of matches but Inter is second to Sporting on the log with superior goal aggregate.
The tournament will be concluded on Friday with a highly anticipated Lagos derby involving Sporting Lagos and Inter Lagos while Doma Fc will slug it out with Ranchers Bees who are already out of contention for the title having lost two matches.
