North West FA Chairmen Thank State FA Leaders for Endorsing Gusau’s Second-Term Bid

The six State Football Association Chairmen from Nigeria’s North West geopolitical zone have expressed profound appreciation to their counterparts across the country for unanimously endorsing the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, for a second term in office ahead of the September 2026 NFF Presidential Election.
In a statement jointly signed by the Chairmen of the Football Associations in Kaduna, Kano, Sokoto, Kebbi, Jigawa and Zamfara states, the North West FA leaders described the endorsement by Chairmen from the North Central, North East, South East, South South and South West zones as a clear demonstration of unity, confidence and commitment to the continued advancement of Nigerian football.
According to the statement, the overwhelming support for Gusau reflects the widespread recognition of his leadership qualities and the achievements recorded by the Nigeria Football Federation under his administration.
“The collective endorsement is a remarkable demonstration of unity, confidence and commitment to the continued growth and development of Nigerian football,” the statement read.
The North West Chairmen noted that the endorsement was an acknowledgement of Gusau’s transparent leadership, innovative approach and commitment to developing football across the country.
They also commended their colleagues nationwide for placing the interests of Nigerian football above all other considerations by supporting continuity and stability within the federation.
The Chairmen stressed that sustained collaboration among football stakeholders remains vital to building a stronger Nigeria Football Federation capable of competing successfully on both the continental and global stages.
They called on football administrators and stakeholders across the country to continue working together in harmony, mutual respect and solidarity to consolidate the gains recorded in recent years and further strengthen the nation’s football development programmes.
Reaffirming their commitment to the progress of the game, the North West Football Association Chairmen thanked their counterparts from the North Central, North East, South East, South South and South West zones for what they described as a historic demonstration of confidence and unity.
