NPFL: Enyimba dethrone Rivers United, pocket N100m

Enyimba Sunday night dethroned neighbors Rivers United to lift the NPFL league shield.
The People’s Elephants also smiled home with the N100m prize money for the champions, even as they won a ticket to fly Nigeria’s flag in the CAF Champions League alongside second position finishers Remo Stars.
The Finidi George tutored side played out a 1-1 draw with Rivers United to top the NPFL play off of six teams.
Remo had before the final game defeated fumbling Bendel Insurance by a lone goal to ensure they finished second pushing down Rivers United to the third position.
The other two teams in the competition, Sunshine Stars and Lobi Stars just like Insurance failed to rise to the occasion at the tournament decided at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos.
