NPFL Play off: Peseiro calls for improved Nigerian League

Super Eagles’ technical adviser, Jose Peseiro said there is need to have an improved local league to enable Nigerian football move forward and be at par with leagues of the other countries of the  world.

He told our correspondent Saturday at the Super 6 championship holding at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena (Onikan) Lagos, that he was impressed with the performance of the players but was quick to add that the league needed more improvement to enable the players achieve their full potentials.

“I’m really impressed with the quality of football displayed by players of the various teams participating in the Super 6 but I still believe that the league need to be improved more because with improved league, many talented players will be discovered and the league will attract more fans to the stadium”, he stated.

According to the Portuguese tactician, Nigeria is blessed with skillful players who have gone out to prove themselves and he is not rulling out inviting some of the players to the national team.

“You can see that I came here to see players of the six best teams in the local league and hopefully I will invite two or three of them to the Super Eagles because we’re still in the rebuilding process which when completed will give Nigerians their dream Super Eagles'”, he concluded.
