Asian Boxing Belt: Okunniyi drums support for Nigeria’s Ridwan

As Nigerian boxing champion, Ridwan ‘Scorpion’ Oyekola prepares for his epic international boxing bout against Keisuke Matsumoto of Japan on August 30 in Tokyo, where both boxers will be squaring up for Japan National/ and WBO Asia title belt, the chairman of Che Synergy Promotions, Sir Olawale Okunniyi has assured Nigerians of nothing but victory on behalf the Ibadan born boxer.
Sir Okunniyi, who was the Chairman of the local organizing committee for the World Boxing Federation’s (WBF) Super Featherweight belt won by Scorpion in 2020, while speaking with the press ahead of the fight, hinged his optimism on the optimal preparations and top form of the Nigerian boxer.
Okunniyi appealed to Nigerians to support Ridwan, the Scorpion, who will be battling a ‘son of the soil’, Keisuke Matsumotoa a Japanese born in Yokohama, Kanagawa, with professional boxing record of eight wins in eight bouts (8-0-0) in his backyard in Japan.
“I want to urge all lovers of sports especially boxing in Nigeria to support Ridwan ‘Scorpion’ Oyekola because with your backing and prayers, I can assure that he will make Nigeria proud by winning both the Japan National Super Featherweight belt and the prestigious Asian Super Featherweight International title belt in far away Japan.
