Obi leads Tinubu in Lagos after 17 LGAs declared

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has collated presidential election results of 17 out of 20 local government areas of Lagos state.

APC won 10 of the local government results declared so far while the Labour Party’s Presidential Candidate, Mr Peter Obi, won seven in the closely contested presidential election.

But in terms of the number of votes, Obi has 32,657 more than Tinubu.

While Obi has 449,088 votes, Tinubu has so far polled 416,431 votes.

The Candidate of the PDP, Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is coming behind in a distant third.

The exercise, which started at about 6.30 p.m. on Sunday evening at INEC Media Centre at the commission’s headquarters in Yaba,, was stopped intermittently to wait for the arrival of results from some LGAs.

The yet-to-be-presented LGAs results are those of Ojo and Alimosho LGAs while results from Mushin, though presented but yet to be approved and accepted.

The State Collation Centre Officer, Prof. Adenike Oladiji, the Vice Chancellor, Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), who announced a break at 4. a.m. said that the collation would resume at 10. a.m. on Monday.
