Odele age group tennis tourney final holds Saturday
The annual Gbolahan Odele age group tennis tournament, which began in two centres on Sunday August 23rd, ends Saturday in Lagos.
The FAAN Tennis Quarters Ikeja and the Adejumo Tennis Sports Complex are the two centres where U-12, U-14 and U-16 boys and girls have been exhibiting their skills in the past one week.
Interestingly, the youth developmental competition attracted Universal Tennis Rating which is a big plus for the young ones.
The annual tournament, the 4th in the series, is being organized by Badejo Sports in conjunction with Chief Gbolahan Odele foundation.
Speaking with our correspondent on the final of the competition scheduled for the Adejumo Tennis Complex, Ejigbo, Chief Odele said he was optimistic of very competitive games in both the boys and girls categories.
He said he was particularly elated with the technical feedbacks from the coaches on this year’s participants.
“The coaches and other technical members have been commending the players and I am so delighted about that. Our target is to make impact and that is happening.
“We are looking forward to exciting final with all the kids and fans of the game expected to enjoy themselves. This event will keep getting better every year,” Chief Odele said.
