Organisers Add Table Tennis, Pick Date For Oba ODUTALA Inter L/G Sports Competition

A Square Sports International, (ASPPIN) the sports body that is organising grassroots competition for the sports loving monarch, HRH Alaiyeluwa (Oba) Adewunmi Adeniji Odutala the Onibudo of Aiyetoro-Budo, via Ota, Ado-Odo Ota Local Government, Ogun State, has picked 9th of April 2023 for the commencement of the soccer tournament.
A free age Table Tennis competition has also been added to the event according to statement issued by organizing secretary of ASPPIN, Olakunle Emmanuel kehinde, with aim to expand the scope and objectives of the competition to accommodate more participants.
The rationale behind the tournament for the royal father is to positively engage the youths in his neighborhood and scout for talents among them using the round leather game and ping pong to support their career with educational scholarship to the outstanding ones.
Screenings will start for the under-16 Boys and under-19 Girls by 8th April according to Olakunle Emmanuel, the organizing secretary, saying registration for interested participants for the table tennis which is free age has commenced.
“Kabiyesi Oba Odutala is reputed to always support any youths’ oriented program within his locality and has also promised to offer educational scholarships to the talented players scouted from this tournament, and he has also instructed that we should pick players from this tournament to form a grassroots team that will bears his name and be representing the Ado-Odo Ota Local Government in national competitions in the future”, said Olakunle.
