Praiz promises credible electoral process as Lagos SWAN gears up for election
Mozez Praiz, Chairman of the Lagos State Sports Writers Association of Nigeria Electoral Committee (SWANECO), has promised a credible electoral process for the emergence of a new executive.
Speaking on behalf of the committee, Praiz described the assignment as a call to service and an opportunity to put in place a fair and credible process to herald a new leadership to rebuild Lagos SWAN.
”We are working towards a new swan. It’s a big rebrand. There will be a new thinking on how to do things. We promise to the best of our abilities to have credible process for the emergence of new SWAN exco”, Praiz said.
He assured that the seven man committee would work towards an electoral process that would produce a new Lagos SWAN leadership accepted by all.
Praiz assured members that SWANECO would work to the best of its abilities to deliver a credible process for the emergence of a new executive germane to the restoration of Lagos SWAN as a leading association of sports journalists in Nigeria.
The Caretaker Committee of Lagos SWAN, headed by Patrick Omorodion, on Friday, October 23, 2026 appointed and inaugurated the electoral committee during an Extraordinary Congress held at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.
The committee comprises Mozez Praiz of SuperSport as Chairman; McAnthony Anaelechukwu of Community Watch Plus as Secretary and Dr Abdulrahman Abolore of Voice of Nigeria. Others are Jovita Eke of Wazobia FM; Dr Suo Chapelle of SuperSport International; Soliu Adeyemo of Booom-Green Media Services; and Tega Onajaife of Smooth FM as members.
The inauguration of SWANECO marks a significant step towards conducting elections and ushering in a new executive to steer the affairs of the association.
