Heartland’s problems compounded as top management fight dirty

By Ifeanyi Eduzor
The problems of relegation threatened Heartland FC of Owerri have been compounded by a management crisis that is further tearing the club apart.
Two people at the center of the crisis are the club’s General Manager, Promise Nwachukwu and Nze Tonex Chukwu who is in charge of players registration.
Nwachukwu is alleged to have accused Tonex and others of sabotage a situation that has seen the club not performing well this season in spite of the massive support from government.
A very bitter Tonex while reacting to the allegation in a whatsapp platform, Diamond Sports said the GM is shameless and irresponsible.
In his words…”On behalf of the Heartland management and my office in particular which was mentioned, I want to debunk as baseless, shameless and the height of irresponsibility the statement credited to our General Manager where he said the officers who are responsible for registration failed to do to sabotage the club. It is laughable, it is stupid and it is uncalled for…”
Tonex in the voice note said the GM rather than fight his colleagues should resign honorably having lost “his dressing room.”
